Master Tony Martinez Sr. 10th degree Black Belt is among the highest ranked Kenpo practitioners in the world today. Master Tony has been learning and perfecting Ed Parkers American Kenpo since 1959. Still today in 2026. Tony Martinez Sr. started his career in his late teens as a golden glove amateur boxer. Tony's hands are incredibly fast, and his hard punches all but guaranteed his success as a boxer, had 40 fights 25 by knock outs no one keep records my mom did however, Mills Had a studio on 8th so of state st Mr. parker was going to BYU came every week to teach I learned more in 1 hour with Mr. parker then I did in 2 months in class. Tony discovered martial arts and found his real passion and talent were to reach full potential under the guidance of Ed Parker and Mills Crenshaw. Master Tony was a star student, and received his Black Belt from Ed Parker and Mills Crenshaw. Tony is a one-time international karate champion, in long beach Winning his first championship as a Brown Belt in 1964 I won as a brown belt, and then my next fight was in 1966-1967 when I received my Black Belt in 1964 from Mr. Ed Parker and Mr. Mill Crenshaw he had candles on each side and the sword was placed in front of me, and then Mr. Parker took the sword and cut a gash on my thumb and his and then we touched them together and Mr. Parker said we are now blood brothers. As a Black Belt. I was waiting to fight this person which I didn’t know. I saw all the people around him I was shocked. Mr. Parker came to me and said just relax, do your thing. I won; It was Chuck Norris who I fought and won against. Then I had another opponent I went against for the next match and lost by one point. Tony opened his first Kenpo school in 1966 and has been teaching adults and children ever since. Tony runs an exceptional kenpo school and is highly respected today among the top tier of Kenpo professionals.
